Frequently Asked Questions
It's a medium-length Experienced quest, typically taking 1.5 to 2 hours. It involves significant travel around Morytania (Meiyerditch, Ver Sinhaza, Myreque Hideout), investigation, item crafting, and two challenging boss fights.
You must complete Darkness of Hallowvale and several earlier Myreque/Morytania quests. Skill requirements are 48 Crafting, 45 Agility, 40 Attack, 40 Herblore, and 38 Slayer. The OSRS Wiki states these are NOT boostable.
Key items: Knife/Sickle, Emerald, Chisel, runes for Lvl-2 Enchant (3 Air, 1 Cosmic) or an Enchant emerald/jade tablet, Rod of Ivandis (recoverable from Veliaf if lost), 1000 Coins. Pestle & mortar and vial are obtainable during. Combat gear/food/potions are essential.
Challenging. You fight an Abomination (Level 149 - uses Melee/Ranged, drains stats, best fought with Magic, safespottable) and Ranis Drakan (Level 233). Ranis uses Melee/Magic, can hit through prayer, heals with Blood Barrage, summons Vyrewatch, and has a berserk phase. The Ivandis Flail is REQUIRED to damage Ranis.
An upgraded version of the Rod of Ivandis, crafted during the quest using an emerald sickle. It's required to damage higher-tier Vampyres like Ranis Drakan and is necessary for further Myreque quests.
It provides unlimited teleports directly to the entrance area of the Theatre of Blood in Ver Sinhaza.
A reward item granting 2,500 experience to any skill of your choice (level 35+). It has 3 charges, for a total of 7,500 XP.
Yes. Ironmen need to acquire an Emerald (mining/drops), runes/tablet for enchanting, and recover the Rod of Ivandis. They must provide all combat gear and supplies for the difficult fights.
